About Me

  Alex Gutteridge is the award-winning author of 13 books for children and young adults. These include Last Chance Angel, No Going Back, and Oven Chips for Tea, which was also broadcast on the radio. Last Chance Angel was shortlisted for The Romantic Novelists' Association award. No Going Back won The Northamptonshire Children's Choice Award and was Highly Commended at the Sheffield Book Awards.

Alex has always loved reading and writing and is a passionate believer in the restorative power of books. She believes that books have the ability to inspire, encourage, comfort and console and that the right book at the right time is a friend to treasure.

Alex lives in a small English village with her family, rescue cat Maisie and bouncy cocker spaniel Audrey. Her favourite day involves writing in the morning, gardening, walking the dog in the afternoon, and a big bowl of crisps in the evening.
